Initial D, in my eyes, is about one universal truth: Eurobeat is fucking awesome.

Even if you've never heard of Initial D before, the music used throughout the series is iconic. Running in the 90s. Déjà Vu. Gas Gas Gas. Initial D is why eurobeat is directly associated with racing, which is ironic since Initial D despite multiple attempts never really took off in America.

Initial D is about an 18 year old man named Takumi Fujiwara who races on hill passes in a Toyota Corolla. And that's basically it. The signature move in the series is drifting, because if you can't drift then your car's going to fly off the mountain. If the series doesn't interest you, I can at least recommend looking up the eurobeat megamixes.
