Is that a JoJo's reference? Yes, yes it is.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure has always been more of a cult following in the English-speaking world than a super popular series, but you would think it's one of the biggest anime ever made considering how its fans talk about it. Ever since this anime adaptation began, the series has built a fanbase so rapid and vocal that it forces itself into the mainstream. Speaking as a casual fan, the large amount of discussion can be annoying. Ironically I think the series moving to Netflix is what finally stopped the momentum. People were upset at Netflix for putting their binge model on JoJo and they were right to. Watching the final episodes of Stardust Crusaders on Adult Swim as they were releasing weekly is a magical experience that I truly hope all anime fans feel at least once.

This site has an unwritten "one per franchise" rule, so if it were up to me I'd say Parts 1-3 belong on Essential while the rest belong on More. If you don't like Part 1, power through it because you'll love Part 2. And Part 3 is one of the best adventure anime I've seen. After that the series goes in different directions that don't get me wrong are thrilling (Part 4 is GREAT) but feel less "classic". I'll just consolidate the franchise into one entry because my head will be on a stake otherwise. Plus, all JoJo parts are worth watching. No part skipping in this house.
