In the immortal words of the late, great Otis Redding…I tried, I tried, I tried, I TRIED TRIED TRIED. I tried to like this show, I honestly did. I even BOUGHT this show once upon a time in my more foolish youth. But no matter how much I tried to get on board with the wacky hijinks, no matter how much I tried to stomach the wishy-washy Keitaro and the outright abusive Naru, I can’t like this one at all, guys. This show is just so frustrating to me. I know some absolutely love it, and more power to them. But for me, I couldn’t take one more minute of watching Keitaro getting knocked out for something that was not entirely his fault by Naru, who REALLY needs either counseling or a smack upside the head. And all the subsequent movies and short series? Forget about it. I can’t deal with this one, guys, even if it’s considered a classic. Even the Cajun Samurai has his limits.
