First impressions are everything. If your first two episodes suck, you're done. No one will keep watching. No one will talk about you. No one will wait and see what's in store next week because they have better things to do. Me and some friends put the first episode on to check it out since it was a Gonzo show. We thought it was a fun kind of enjoyable trash. Later on we decided to keep going. Episode 2 was hilarious in how edgy it was! Easily the worst episode of the series.
Never has a show gone from "so bad it's good" to "WAIT IT'S UNIRONICALLY GREAT?!?!" as fast as 18if does.
18if is about Haruto Tsukishiro, who with the help of Katsumi Kanzaki are trying to get women to wake up from comas by entering their dreams. Every episode is a different girl. Every episode is a different dream. Every episode is a different director.
18if is actually an anthology series, chief directed by Koji Morimoto, best known for directing the Magnetic Rose sequence in Memories. He's also directed segments in Robot Carnival and The Animatrix. The series will change genres, hell it'll change ANIMATION STYLES between episodes. It somehow just kept getting better. It's some of the most fun I've had watching anime.
