Fair use is a legal term which allows copyrighted content to be used without permission so long as the new material does not serve the same purpose as the original. Comedic parodies are the best example. Japan does not have fair use. I think Shuu Matsubara forgot about this when he wrote the first episode of Mr. Osomatsu.

Considering the number of direct parodies the first episode has, any one of them could have filed the complaint that took the episode down from streaming. That episode is [legally] gone, which is a damn shame because it is one of the funniest first episodes in anime. Fortunately the rest of the season is just as funny.

I have qualms with where the franchise went afterwards, but that first season is my favorite anime comedy of all time. It is a non-stop barrage of jokes widely varying in how bizarre and off the cuff they get. I can't get enough of it.
